We want to help!

Our Scholarship Award Application is Currently Closed

  • We are proud to help our community finance and build their futures. Education is the first step in the fight against fraud, it provides the barrier between truth and lies and we are committed to providing the next generation what it needs to join our network of fraud fighters. 

  • One of the ways we plan on expanding our network is through our SDI Scholarship Program, where participants can win up to $500 for the winning essay.

  • Our scholarship applications are set to open in 2025.

  • Please mark your calendars or subscribe here to keep informed.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Our Scholarship program is open to all disciplines but restricted to Bachelor or Master degree students for the upcoming academic year.

  • Both part time and full time students can apply.

  • Write an essay in your own words on one of the topics below. 

  • A citizen or permanent resident of Canada

Essay Topic 1
The Impact of Social Media on Fraud: How has the rise of social media contributed to fraudulent activities, and what can be done to mitigate these risks?
Essay Topic 3
Fraud in E-commerce: Analyze the rise of online shopping fraud and propose strategies for consumers and businesses to protect themselves.
Essay Topic 2

Psychological Tactics Used by Fraudsters: Explore the psychological methods used by fraudsters and how understanding these tactics can help in prevention.

Scholarship Application Process

Part 1: Application Requirements

Step 1

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited institution

  • Bachelors or Masters Students

  • For the upcoming academic year (2025-2026)

Step 2

​Necessary Documents:

  • Proof of enrolment: An official or unofficial transcript from the institution

  • Essay: Choose one topic to write and submit, within 800-1200 words, 12pt font, double-spaced

Step 3

Google Form:

  • Input required information

  • Attach proof of enrolment (PDF)

  • Attach essay (PDF)

  • Limit one entry per student

Part 2: Application Deadline

Application due MONTH DAY, 2025

Part 3: Selection Timeline

We will announce the selected recipient in 2026.
